Frequently asked questions

How do I find the volume of a cylinder?

Multiply the circular base area by the height: V = πr²h, where r is the radius and h is the height.

What units does this use?

Whatever unit you enter dimensions in — the volume comes out in that unit cubed, and surface area in that unit squared.

How is a sphere’s volume different from its surface area formula?

Volume is (4/3)πr³ (cubic — how much space it fills); surface area is 4πr² (square — how much material would wrap it).

Does this handle a cone or pyramid?

Not yet — only cube, sphere, and cylinder are covered today.
